Are you the parent or guardian of a boy, between the ages of 5-17, who has a trauma history that may include domestic violence or other forms of abuse?
Our mentorship program, "Men of Strength" has a mission of providing a Safe Space for boys to build friendships, gain positive male role models and strategies for processing their emotions in healthy ways as they heal from traumas.
The program consists of weekly, bootcamp style circuit workouts that begin with prayer, and encouragement. The group will come together at the end of each workout, to meet and share any challenges, wins or receive input from someone who has a similar history and has overcome barriers. Guest speakers (Athletes & Entrepreneurs) will occasionally attend the workouts to add more enrichment and value to the boys' lives as they build trust, coping skills, learn accountability and the characteristics of honorable, respectful men.
The boys will also have access to 1:1 outings and conversations with their mentor to allow them the time and attention often needed to address any challenges that they choose not to share in the group setting.
Information shared by the boys during these outings and meetings will be confidential with the exception of anything that could potentially put them at risk of harm. Our staff and mentors will assess each's boy's needs based on what they share and what we observe, with the intention of providing suggestions and resources to their parent/guardian that will aid in their progress.
